Photography quickly came into use in the Middle-East by local and foreign practitioners in the 19th century but there had been little attempt to recognize the region’s photographers. Recently many photographers from the region have been producing beautiful yet powerful photo-books which exposes the extraordinary diversity of the region’s rich and politicized photographic history.
